THAT is what I want to do.

It was in the late 70s.

I heard Kansas' "Dust in the Wind." Blown away by it, I suddenly knew.

THAT is what I wanted to do. I wanted to play violin in a rock band.

I informed Mom and Dad.

We were a musical family, but until that point, all I had ever played was the recorder and pecking out songs on the piano with 2 or 3 fingers. Somehow, Mom found a violin teacher for me. I will ever be grateful for their investment in me. Even though I hardly practiced, as an adult it became a source of great joy. I don't have my rock band yet, but I have certainly played on some pretty rowdy music teams.

Beautiful People

Years ago, I had an amazing experience. I was playing my violin on the worship team. I looked out at the congregation and they were suddenly the most beautiful people I'd ever seen. They didn't change
