It was in the late 70s.
I heard Kansas' "Dust in the Wind." Blown away by it, I suddenly knew.
THAT is what I wanted to do. I wanted to play violin in a rock band.
I informed Mom and Dad.
We were a musical family, but until that point, all I had ever played was the recorder and pecking out songs on the piano with 2 or 3 fingers. Somehow, Mom found a violin teacher for me. I will ever be grateful for their investment in me. Even though I hardly practiced, as an adult it became a source of great joy. I don't have my rock band yet, but I have certainly played on some pretty rowdy music teams.
